As a filmmaker (director/producer), Thomas Stipe has won twenty ADDY Awards (including two Best of Show) for nationally televised commercials, documentaries, and short subjects, produced for The University of Alabama and other corporate clients.
As college marketing and public relations executive for the University of Alabama, Stipe has won over fifty national and regional awards of excellence from CASE (The Council for Advancement and Support of Education), The American Admissions Awards Council, and The Public Relations Society of America.
As a communications consultant, Stipe is recognized nationally for his work in both sports broadcasting and business television, via his firm Bluenote Communications.
As a sports broadcaster, Stipe's services are regularly in demand for major sporting events such as the Olympic and Paralympics Games, World Cup Soccer, World Gymnastics Championships, the Super Bowl, the NCAA Basketball Championships, the US Open and PGA Golf Championships, and Major League Baseball. He also serves as the producer for The University of Alabama's Crimson Tide football and basketball networks (heard on 75 radio stations throughout the southeast, as well as world wide via the internet).
Thomas Stipe is also a songwriter actively writing and pitching songs to country and contemporary Christian artists. Stipe is represented by Rex Benson of Pen Music Group LA/Nashville and am is a
member of ASCAP, The Nashville Songwriter's Association, The CMA, and the Academy of Country Music. Recent successes include several recordings by up and coming major label artists, inclusion of a song on a recent HBO film, and co-writing with country superstar Tracy Lawrence.
Stipe has received awards from the Academy of Country Music, Broadjam, the Nashville Songwriter's Association (NSAI), the Durango Songwriting Festival and the USA Songwriting Competition.
Stipe is married to Sharon Harvey Stipe and is the proud father of daughter Sarah. He is an active member of First Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, where he works with the children's music program, Sunday school, and serves as a Deacon.
Stipe's hobbies include Cajun/Creole cooking (he occasionally caters), golf, and travel. He is a graduate of The University of Alabama.
